Effective relocation partnerships helps the shelters in need reduce overcrowding and transports animals from under-resourced shelters across the nation to shelters with space, resources and a high demand for adoption. Using both land and air transportation, we partner with shelters in areas with high homeless pet populations and transports animals to “destination” shelters and adoption centers in communities where adoptable animals are in high demand. Relocation is an effective and critical tool to prevent needless euthanasia of adoptable pets.

Saving Gizmo's Friends is an animal rescue foundation on a mission to rescue dogs from the kill shelters on the west coast by transporting them to non-kill shelters on the east coast. Most commercial airlines do not permit transporting pets throughout the winter months due to the cold temperatures in the cargo holds. As a solution, we decided to transport 20 little chihuahuas from Lancaster Shelter in Los Angeles to the North Shore Animal Rescue in Connecticut.
